MACA is seeking a Regional HSEQ Superintendent to join our Corporate HSEQ team on a Full-Time, Permanent position, based in Welshpool with regular site travel.

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, the Regional HSEQ Superintendent is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and support across all Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) functions for 14 mining projects and numerous crushing operations throughout Western Australia.

 

This role plays a critical part in ensuring our operations maintain the highest standards of HSEQ performance, legislative compliance, incident management, and continuous improvement while supporting operational teams across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide visible HSEQ leadership and strategic support across regional operations.
  • Coach, mentor and develop HSEQ personnel, supervisors and managers to strengthen safety leadership capability.
  • Partner with operational leaders to proactively identify and manage risk.
  • Support the effective implementation of critical risk controls, health and safety systems and operational standards.
  • Lead and facilitate high level incident investigations, learning reviews and corrective action processes.
  • Analyse safety performance trends and identify opportunities to strengthen organisational learning and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative, client and company requirements while supporting practical operational outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning and care for people across all operations.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of MACA's HSEQ framework through innovation, leadership and collaboration.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Advance Diploma in Work Health and Safety (essential), with tertiary qualifications in HSEQ or a related discipline highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar HSEQ leadership role, preferably within the mining or resources industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HSEQ legislation, standards, and best practices, particularly within Western Australia.
  • Proven experience implementing and maintaining HSEQ management systems aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
  • Experience maintaining compliance with WorkSafe and LGIRS requirements.
  • Lead Auditor and Lead ICAM Investigator qualifications.
  • Knowledge of injury management processes and systems.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and coaching skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience using HSEQ systems such as INX and Synergy
